How To Do A Tib Raise

Want to perfect your form and master the move that is taking the strength and conditioning world by storm? Check out our two demo videos below that run you through how to correctly and safely do a tibialis raise using our Tib Bar and our ISOTIB-LT so that you can reap all of the benefits of this progressive and popular training exercise.

How to do a Tib Raise with The Tib Bar

One great benefit of using a Tib Bar to perform tib raises is the ability to train both legs simultaneously.

This ensures a faster workout and is great for group training sessions or when time is a restraint.

Tib Bars have some major advantages over wall raises by giving you the ability to regress and deload (injury or overweight,) scale and progress (as you get stronger,) and train through greater range of motion.

  1. Sit on a bench or flat surface with your feet hanging off the edge.
  2. Attach Tib Bar (or place it on feet before sitting back)
  3. Hang your ankles off the bench with feet in plantarflexion
  4. Slowly curl your feet up into dorsiflexion
  5. Control back into plantar flexion
  6. Repeat for 15-20 reps, 2-3 sets

How to do a Tib Raise with The ISOTIB-LT

The greatest benefit of unilateral (single leg) training with The ISOTIB-LT is the ability to remove muscular imbalances and range of motion deficits.

It also forces the stabilizer muscles that support the ankle to fire and recruit, increasing stability in the ankle.

  1. Attach ISOTIB-LT to foot and ratchet strap
  2. Sit on a bench or flat surface with your feet hanging off the edge.
  3. Hang your ankles off the bench with feet in plantarflexion
  4. Slowly curl your feet up into dorsiflexion
  5. Control back into plantar flexion
  6. Repeat for 15-20 reps, 2-3 sets

The stronger the tibialis anterior is, the more efficiency in decelerating when running or walking downhill, and the less likely to experience shin splints from running or sport.
